Al-Qassam fighter succumbs to wounds in Gaza

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian member of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, succumbed on Saturday to wounds he had sustained days ago.

The Brigades said in a statement that a fighter, identified as Hamed Abed al-Khaliq al-Masri, 31, succumbed to wounds he had sustained during an accidental explosion that occurred on October 1st inside a training camp in Deir al-Balah in the central besieged Gaza Strip.

The statement added that al-Masri had been in Intensive Care Unit of the Indonesian Hospital since the accident.

Al-Masri's funeral is set to take place on Saturday afternoon.
