CAIRO (Ma'an) -- The first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, arrived on Saturday to Cairo, for her first ever visit to Egypt.

Melania was welcomed by Egypt’s first lady, Entissar al-Sisi, at the Cairo International Airport and visited the US embassy in Cairo, the Grand Egyptian Museum, as well as the pyramids and the sphinx in Giza near Cairo.

Her visit lasted only a few hours, from 11:30 a.m. until 5.00 p.m.

The visit of Melania to Egypt comes as the final leg of her solo tour to visit African countries, which included Ghana, Malawi and Kenya, as part of her trip focusing on child welfare, education, and conservation.
