GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- One Palestinian was killed and dozens of others injured, as Israeli warplanes carried out multiple airstrikes across the besieged Gaza Strip on predawn Wednesday.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, one Palestinian, identified as Naji Muhammad al-Zaanin, 25, was killed due to an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza.

A Ma'an reporter said that an Israeli warplane targeted a group of Palestinian civilians, injuring three of them.

Israeli warplanes also carried out a number of airstrikes across southern Gaza, injuring another four Palestinians.

The medical condition of those injured remained unknown.

The Israeli army announced that it targeted a group of Palestinians allegedly launching incendiary kites and balloons towards Israeli communities surrounding Gaza.

Israeli warplanes fired several missiles targeting a site belonging to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, in central Gaza.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that Israeli airstrikes were carried out in the southern, central and northern Gaza Strip, pointing out that black smoke billows accelerated in many areas.

Loud explosions were heard in Khan Younis City and west of Rafah City in the southern Gaza.
