BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces carried out search and detention campaigns across districts of the occupied West Bank, on predawn Saturday.

In the Bethlehem district in the central West Bank, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian youth from the Harmala village in eastern Bethlehem; locals identified him as Munir Atallah.

Israeli forces also delivered a summon notice to meet with Israeli intelligence to a Palestinian youth from the Tuqu town in Bethlehem.

Locals said that Israeli forces raided and searched the family house of former prisoner Muhannad al-Badan, 21, and delivered him a notice to meet with Israeli intelligence.

Al-Badan was released from Israeli prisons one week ago.

Meanwhile in the Tulkarem district, in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian youth after raiding and searching his home in the Shweika area.

Locals identified the detained youth as Qussai Imad Abu Saleh.

Israeli forces blew up the front gate of a local school before searching the school's premises along with several nearby houses and lands, in search for the suspect of a shooting attack carried out in the Israeli Barkan industrial area almost two weeks ago.

Clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in the Azzun village in eastern Qalqiliya district of the northern West Bank.

Locals reported that dozens of Palestinians suffered tear-gas inhalation as Israeli forces fired tear-gas bombs and stun grenades during raids to central Azzun.

Israeli forces raided and searched a house belonging to local Amin Mansour; soldiers were deployed across Azzun, olive-tree fields adjacent to the village's main street and near the northern entrance of the village.

Israeli search and detention raids are a nightly occurrence in Palestinian cities, towns, and refugee camps across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,640 Palestinian prisoners currently being held in Israeli prisons.
