Israeli police detain Jerusalemite for alleged stabbing attempt

Oct. 24, 2018 4:39 P.M. (Updated: Oct. 25, 2018 11:22 A.M.)
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police detained a Jerusalemite, on Wednesday, for an alleged stabbing attack attempt in Tel Aviv, in central Israel.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, Israeli police detained a Jerusalemite on road 1 in Tel Aviv, for allegedly attempting to carry out a stabbing attack.

Sources added that the detainee was taken in for further interrogation.

His identity remained unknown.
Israeli forces have detained scores of Palestinians, many of them minors, for allegedly being in possession of knives following a spate of alleged and actual small-scale knife attacks by Palestinians that surged in the fall of 2015.

Eyewitnesses have also said in a number of cases that Israeli security forces planted knives on slain or imprisoned Palestinians to claim that they were acting in self-defense during a stabbing attack.
