Israeli forces detain 5 Palestinians across West Bank

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least five Palestinians, on predawn Sunday, across the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained three Palestinians in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem. They were identified as Ahmad Jamal al-Amour, Ahmad Khaled al-Amour, and Muhammad Salah Zaki Zaoul.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Yazan Zeid.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian. PPS identified him as Mahdi Adib Ismail al-Haj.

The detentions carried out by Israeli forces mostly occur during overnight raids in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,640 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
