Israeli forces raid 3 sections of Ofer detention center

Oct. 31, 2018 12:38 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 4, 2018 10:13 A.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli suppression forces raided sections 15, 17 and 18 of the Ofer detention center in the Ramallah district of central occupied West Bank, on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) confirmed that suppression forces of the Israeli Prisons’ Services raided the three sections at dawn Wednesday.

PPS added that suppression forces searched and closed the sections.

There are currently some 360 Palestinian prisoners in the three sections of Ofer.

Israeli suppression forces have regularly used overnight raids, confiscation of personal belongings and forcible prison transfers to suppress resistance among Palestinian prisoners.

A small fraction of Palestinians detained by Israel are held inside the occupied West Bank territory, while the vast majority are transferred to prisons inside Israel, limiting their access to their families, legal support, and communities, and also stripping detainees of their basic rights under the Fourth Geneva Convention.
