Incendiary balloon sets fire to vehicle in Negev

NEGEV (Ma'an) -- An incendiary balloon set a vehicle on fire, reportedly belonging to an Israeli security guard in an Israeli Kibbutz in Negev in southern Israel, on Thursday.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, a fire erupted inside a vehicle belonging to a security guard of the Alumim Kibbutz in Negev.

Sources confirmed that the fire erupted due to an incendiary balloon reportedly launched from the besieged Gaza Strip into southern Israel.

Additionally, sources reported that an incendiary balloon, which was carrying a suspicious object, landed in the Eshkol Regional Council near Gaza.

Israeli police and explosives experts immediately arrived at the scene and removed the suspicious object from the area.

No injuries nor damages were reported in Eshkol.

It is noteworthy that Palestinians in Gaza view the incendiary kites as a form of protest against Israel's nearly 12-year blockade of Gaza and for Palestinian refugees right of return to their homes and lands which are now known as Israel.
