7 killed, 14 injured in attack on bus bound for Coptic monastery

Nov. 2, 2018 4:01 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 6, 2018 12:58 P.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- At least seven people were killed and 14 others injured in an attack on a bus, in northern Egypt, on Friday afternoon.

According to Reuters news agency, the bus was heading towards a Coptic Christian monastery, in northern Egypt.

Sources added that no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

It is noteworthy that Egypt's Coptic Christians, who make up about 10% of its population of 92 million, have come under attack by Islamist radicals many times over the past few years.

The bus, which was heading to the same monastery, was previously attacked in May 2017 by ISIS Jihadists, who shot and killed 29 Coptic Christian worshippers, including children.
