Israeli forces detain Palestinian after crossing Gaza border into Israel

Nov. 10, 2018 12:51 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 11, 2018 10:53 A.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a Palestinian who reportedly crossed into Israel from the northern borders of the besieged Gaza Strip, on Friday evening.

Hebrew-language media reported that the man was able to reach one of the Israeli communities surrounding the Gaza Strip after crossing the border.

No weapons were found on the youth; he was later transferred for interrogation.

A fire broke out inside a greenhouse in the same community, initial reports said that a flare fired by Israeli forces searching for the youth caused the fire. However, after preliminary interrogation, it was reported that the youth had started the fire.

Israeli forces regularly detain Palestinians attempting to cross into Israel from the besieged Gaza Strip, which has suffered under a decade-long military blockade by Israel.
