BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces shot and injured several Palestinian students, while dozens of others suffered from tear-gas inhalation, on Sunday, as Israeli forces attacked them in the Tuqu village, in the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem.

Local sources confirmed that Israeli forces raided the Tuqu high school and fired tear-gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets towards Palestinian students.

Dozens of students were reported to have been shot and injured by Israeli forces, as well as suffered from tear-gas inhalation.

The medical condition of the injured remained unknown.

Sources also confirmed that Israeli forces briefly detained the high school’s principal and other staff members.

Israeli forces forced the students and staff members to evacuate the premises, resulting in taking control of the high school and shutting it down.

Sources added that that Israeli forces sealed off the two main entrances to the Tuqu village.
Prior to this attack, Israeli forces also attacked and injured dozens of Palestinians students and teachers at the Tareq Bin Zayed boys school as they participated in a peaceful rally commemorating the 14th anniversary of the death of late Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, in Hebron, in the southern West Bank.
Many Palestinians schools and universities have been subjected to numerous Israeli military raids in the past.
