Israel deploys reinforcements along Gaza border

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Israeli army decided, on Monday, to deploy reinforcement forces along the Gaza borders with Israel in the event a large force is needed there.

The Israeli army Chief of Staff, Gadi Eisenkot, confirmed in a statement that he would increase the number of troops deployed along the Gaza border in the next few days.

The decision was made after Eisenkot met with Shin Bet head, Nadav Argaman, in addition to other members of the Israeli security apparatus.

The decision also came after Israeli warplanes carried out a campaign of airstrikes across the southern besieged Gaza Strip, killing seven members of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas movement, including a senior member.
