Israeli forces detain 2 Palestinians in West Bank raids

TULKAREM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained two Palestinians, on predawn Friday, in the Shweika village, in the northern occupied West Bank district of Tulkarem.

Local sources said that Israeli forces raided the Shweika village and broke into several Palestinian homes.

Sources confirmed that following the raids, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians; they were identified as Majd Alaa Ikbariya, 20, and Lafi Muhammad Lafi Naawla, 21.

The reason for their detention remained unknown.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,580 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
