15 injured as Israeli forces suppress olive-planting event in Nablus

Nov. 17, 2018 2:14 P.M. (Updated: Nov. 18, 2018 11:53 A.M.)
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- At least 15 Palestinians were injured during clashes with Israeli forces in the Urif village, in southern Nablus of the northern occupied West Bank, on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses told a Ma'an reporter that Israeli soldiers fired dozens of tear-gas bombs and stun grenades towards hundreds of Palestinians, who were planting hundreds of olive trees in the eastern area of Urif.

The olive-planting event was organized, in areas threatened with confiscated by the Israeli authorities, upon call by the Fatah movement and the local Urif committee against the separation wall and settlement.

Sources from the Palestinian Red Crescent told Ma'an that PRC crews treated more than 15 Palestinians during clashes that erupted as Israeli forces suppressed the event, including two critical injuries.
