Minors among 14 detained by Israeli forces

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 14 Palestinians, including minors, across the occupied West Bank during predawn raids, on Tuesday.

According to local sources, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian in the southern West Bank district of Hebron. He was identified as Muhammad Abed al-Maati Ghatashe, 26.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Amer Mousa Qawar, 17.

In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained seven Palestinians. They were identified as Wassim Iyad Dari, 16, Salah Bader Abu Asab, 18, Muhammad Marei Darbas, 18, and Hussein Hamjum, 20, Mahmoud Saadi al-Rajbi, Abada Siyam along with his brother Abdullah Siyam.

In the Qalandiya refugee camp, in the central West Bank district of Ramallah, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Basem Zayed.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians. They were identified as Imad Ahmad Shteiwi, 46, Khaled Shteiwi, 13, and Awad Mansour Abid, 14.

Local sources mentioned that the two minors were repeatedly beaten by the Israeli forces prior to their detention.

In the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, one former Palestinian prisoner was detained by Israeli forces. He was identified as Ahmad Marwan Shihab.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,580 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 250 are child prisoners and 35 are under the age of 16 years.
