Israel seizes land for expansion near Salfit

Nov. 26, 2018 11:27 A.M. (Updated: Nov. 26, 2018 4:24 P.M.)
SALFIT (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities carried out expansion work, on Monday, near an Israeli observation tower at the entrance of Kifel Hares village, north of the northern occupied West Bank district of Salfit.

The mayor of Kifel Hares village, Abed al-Rahim Buziya, told Ma'an that due to an Israeli army order, Israeli forces started to carry out the expansion work of an Israeli observation tower at the main entrance of the village, seizing a part of Palestinian-owned land.

Buziya pointed out that the expansion was carried out before the end of the period granted for the Palestinian owner of the land to legally object the move.

Buziya added that this form of expansion seeks to obstruct and control the movement of the residents of the village.
