Israeli bulldozers raid Khan Younis, shots fired at youths

Nov. 30, 2018 11:04 A.M. (Updated: Nov. 30, 2018 12:24 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Several Israeli military bulldozers entered dozens of meters into eastern Khan Younis in the southern besieged Gaza Strip, on Friday morning.

Witnesses told a Ma'an reporter that four Israeli D9 bulldozers and an excavator entered dozens of meters into eastern Khan Younis, coming from al-Sanati military gate.

Israeli bulldozers razed and leveled Palestinian lands in the area.

Meanwhile, loud explosions were heard across different areas of the Gaza Strip due to Israeli warplanes firing stun grenades above Gaza.

Israeli soldiers also opened fire at several Palestinian youths who approached an Israeli military gate in northern Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip.

No injuries were reported.

Israeli military incursions inside the besieged Gaza Strip and near the "buffer zone," which lies on both land and sea sides of Gaza, have long been a near-daily occurrence.

The Israeli army also regularly detains and opens fire on unarmed Palestinian fishermen, shepherds and farmers along the border areas if they approach the buffer zone, as the authorities have not made clear the precise area of the designated zone.

The practice has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural and fishing sector of the blockaded coastal enclave, which has been under an Israeli air, land, and sea blockade for nearly 12 years.
