4-year-old boy succumbs to wounds sustained in Gaza

Dec. 12, 2018 10:35 A.M. (Updated: Dec. 13, 2018 11:43 A.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A 4-year-old Palestinian child succumbed to his wounds, on Tuesday, that he had sustained as Israeli forces suppressed a peaceful protest, east of Khan Younis district, in the southern besieged Gaza Strip.

Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, confirmed that 4-year-old Ahmad Abu Abed succumbed to wounds he had sustained last Friday as Israeli forces opened fire towards Palestinian protesters near the border security fence.
Ahmad was hit by Israeli bullet shrapnel in the face, chest, and stomach, sustaining critical wounds.

Thirty Palestinians were also wounded during the same protest.

"The Great March of Return" protests were launched by thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza -- which has suffered from a decade-long Israeli siege -- who took to the borders to demand their right of return as refugees to their original homelands, now in present-day Israel.
