Israel detains 100 Palestinians in West Bank within 24 hours

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 100 Palestinians within 24 hours, from Thursday until predawn Friday, across the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) identified 49 out of the 100 Palestinians and confirmed that among the detained was a minor, a lawmaker, and a journalist.

According to PPS, Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians in the southern West Bank district of Hebron. They were identified as Muhammad Ismai al-Tal, a Palestinian lawmaker, Hassan Falah al-Natsha, Muaman Hussein al-Natsha along with his brother Muhammad al-Natsha, Amjad Abed al-Razeq al-Rahbi, Muhammad Jawda Abu Amer, Balal Salim Salhab, Muataz Muhammad Abu Zeineh, Mazen al-Natsha, Muad Muhammad Abu Jahisha along with his brother al-Mutawakel, Rafat Raed Abu Jahisha and his brother Ruof, Yasser al-Najjar, Said Asafra, and Bader Marish.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, 10 Palestinians were detained. PPS identified them as Yasin Mamun Badir, 18, Muhammad al-Badawna, 30, Jamal Suleiman Radi, 53, Abed al-Razeq Badwan, 27, Hamza Abu Srour, 24, Issa Mustafa al-Arouj, 27, Muhammad Adel Atallah, 30, Ibrahim Nofel al-Adawin, 26, Yahya Hani Saada, 30, Adi Mahmoud Abu Mafrah, 27.

In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, another 10 Palestinians were detained. They were identified as Muhammad Moutir, Sabah Faraoun, Shadi al-Hanaash, Shkuri al-Hanash, Areen al-Zaanin, Nour al-Shalbi, Alaa al-Fakhouri, Rawhi al-Kalghasi, and Ahmad Jaber.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, Israeli forces detained six Palestinians. PPS identified them as Usama Thaher al-Rimawi, 15, Ahmad Najib Mufarja, Muhammad al-Qadi, Muad Dahadha, Muhammad Hashayka, and journalist, Mousa Salah Samhan.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, seven Palestinians were detained. They were identified as Yasser Mansour, Mustafa al-Shanar, Abed al-Karim al-Halbi, Muhammad Zaher Qat, Yousef Dweikat, and Saher Hamayel.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,554 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 51 are female prisoners, 230 are child prisoners and 41 are under the age of 16 years.
