Israeli forces detain 16 Palestinians from across West Bank

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detain at least 16 Palestinians from across areas of the occupied West Bank, on predawn Monday.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said that three Palestinians were detained from the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem; PPS identified them as Abed al-Rahman al-Dadou, 17, Ihab Khalid Sabbah, 17, and Saad Hussein al-Umour, 24.

Two Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces from Jerusalem City, they were identified as Ghaith Ghaith and Majd al-Rjabi.

PPS added that nine Palestinians were detained from across the Ramallah and al-Bireh district in the central West Bank.

The detainees were identified as Rifaie Sami Dweik, Youssef Ghalawmeh, Jibrin Nasr Zubaidi, Muhammad Ayyoub Majdi Riyad Safi, Riyad Salah Elayyan, Abed Muhammad Sharakeh, Bassel Nasr Zubaidi and Alaa al-Dahnun, 49.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, Israeli forces detained one Palestinian identified as Youssef Hashash from the Balata refugee camp.

One Palestinian was also detained from the Tulkarem district, also in the northern West Bank; he was identified as Ahmad Muhammad Jayyousi, 29.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,554 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 51 are female prisoners, 230 are child prisoners and 41 are under the age of 16 years.
