Israeli forces detain 5 Palestinians during West Bank raids

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least five Palestinians during detention raids across the occupied West Bank.

In the southern West Bank district of Hebron, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians from the Taffuh and Yatta areas in the district.

Locals reported that Israeli forces also detained a Palestinian former prisoner from Hebron while at the Container checkpoint, east of the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem.

Israeli forces detained two Palestinians during clashes that erupted following an Israeli raid in Ein Yabrud, northwest of Ramallah City in the central West Bank.

Israeli forces had raided Ein Yabrub after shots were fired at Israeli soldiers deployed near the Ofra illegal settlement, east of Ramallah; Israeli forces raided and searched several homes and stores to confiscate recorders of surveillance cameras.

Israeli raids into Palestinian towns and villages are near daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,554 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 51 are female prisoners.
