Israel to dissolve Knesset, hold early elections in April

Dec. 24, 2018 5:30 P.M. (Updated: Dec. 26, 2018 11:29 A.M.)
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Head of Israel's government coalition decided, on Monday, to dissolve the Knesset and hold early elections in April, that is seven months earlier than required by law.

The next elections were scheduled to be held in November 2019.

Israeli news outlets reported that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed during a press conference at the Knesset that "the heads of the coalition parties decided, in agreement and unanimously, to disperse the Knesset and call for new elections at the beginning of April."
