Israeli forces detain 24 Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 24 Palestinians, including seven minors, during search and detention raids across the occupied West Bank raids, on predawn Wednesday.

The Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that Israeli forces detained three minors from the southern West Bank district of Hebron district, identified as Yazan Ragheb al-Froukh, 16, Qussai Nimr al-Froukh, 16, and Abudllah Moussa Jaradat, 16.

Two more Palestinians were detained from the Hebron district; PPS identified them as Bashar Yaqoub al-Badawi and Huthaifa Muhammad Zuhour.

PPS added that Israeli forces detained five other Palestinians from the northern West Bank district of Nablus; they were identified as Amir Ishtayeh, Alaa Samih al-Araj, Omar Ibrahim al-Tartir, Nidal Khalad Hajj Muhammad and Saleh al-Amer.

Israeli forces also raided the Kafr Qaddum town, east of the northern West Bank district of Qalqilia, detaining four Palestinians, including two minors, PPS identified them as Alaa al-Din Ishteiwi, 26, Nimr Muhammad Ishteiwi, 28, Tareq Nabil Ali, 16, and Qussai Asaad Ishteiwi, 15.

Nine Palestinians were detained from the northern West Bank district of Jenin; they were identified as Usama Khalil Amarneh, Muhammad Jihad Abu Bakr, Ahmad Abdullah Bani Ghurra, Ahmad Nidal Nubani, Muhammad Adnan Makhzumi, Nour al-Din al-Khaldi, and minors Muhammad Abed al-Razeq Hanoun, 16, and Mutaz Abu Zaid, 16, in addition to Hamzeh Abed al-Hamid Mbayyid.

Another Palestinian was detained from the Tubas district; he was identified as Khalid Raed Daraghmeh.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,554 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, including 230 minors, 41 of whom under 16 years old.
