BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Palestinian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Rola Maaya announced, on Saturday, that more than three million tourists visited Palestine in 2018.

Maayaa told the Palestinian Authority (PA)-owned news agency, Wafa, that according to data by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), 3,049,753 have visited Palestine in 2018.

The date by PCBS also predicted that based on indicators the number of tourists in 2019 is going to exceed that of last year.

Maayaa said the ministry is “looking forward to creating an atmosphere that is attractive for tourism,” calling for increasing investment in tourism as a vital sector in Palestine.
