Abbas meets Egypt’s al-Sisi to discuss political developments

SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Ma'an) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, on Sunday, ahead of the first Arab-European Summit in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Abbas and al-Sisi discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and in Palestine, in addition to ways to reinforce mutual relations between Palestine and Egypt and both of their people.

Abbas thanked al-Sisi for the invitation and agreed to continue coordination and tight ties with Egypt for the interests of both countries.

Secretary General of the PLO Saeb Erekat, Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki, and Abbas’ advisor on diplomatic affairs, Majdi Khalidi, and Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt, Diab al-Lawh, attended the meeting.
