Israeli airstrikes target Hamas sites across Gaza

March 6, 2019 11:23 A.M. (Updated: March 6, 2019 3:39 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes across the besieged Gaza Strip, on Tuesday, allegedly in response to mass protests organized by Palestinians along the border, according to a statement by the Israeli army.

Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes, targeting two Hamas movement sites, located in central and southern Gaza.

An Israeli army spokesperson said that the airstrikes “came in response” to alleged incendiary balloon launches by Palestinians from Gaza towards southern Israel.

The spokesperson added that the Hamas movement “is fully responsible for the situation in Gaza.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that no hospitals were hit during the Israeli airstrikes.
