March 6, 2019 3:38 P.M. (Updated: March 8, 2019 11:29 A.M.)
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that Amal Barghouth, the wife of Tareq Barghouth, the lawyer of the Prisoners and Former Prisoners' Affairs Committee, will be released from Israeli custody on Wednesday.

Amal Barghouth was detained by Israeli forces on Tuesday during predawn raids in the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah.

PPS said that Israeli authorities will release Amal on a 10,000 shekels ($2,765) bail.

In late February, Israeli forces had detained Tareq Barghouth in Ramallah City and confiscated his vehicle before transferring him to the Russian compound detention center in Jerusalem City for interrogation.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,440 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, including 48 female prisoners.
