Infant injured as Israeli forces detain 13 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 13 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank during predawn raids, on Thursday.

Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that Israeli forces detained two Palestinians in the southern West Bank district of Hebron. They were identified as Ashraf Salah al-Badarin and Ahmad al-Badarin.

In Dheisheh refugee camp, in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, another two Palestinians were detained. They were identified as Amar Qawar and Muhammad Raed Shamroukh.

Following the raid, clashes broke out among Israeli forces and Palestinians, during which Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition and tear-gas bombs throughout the refugee camp .

A 40-day-old Palestinian infant suffered from tear-gas suffocation and was taken to a nearby hospital for necessary medical treatment.

In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, three Palestinians were detained. PPS identified them as Kareem Hassan Shamasna, Muhammad Ahmad Faqiya, and Ahmadf Ziyad Shamasna.

In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Majdi Shawqi Mansour.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, Israeli forces detained five Palestinians. PPS identified them as Khaled Abed Jaradat, Rafat Tayseer Abu Hamad, Madi Samih al-Kilani, Ihab Jamil Salameh, and Wisam Iyad Hanoun.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,440 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
