JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces raided the Issawiya neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem and detained an Al-Aqsa Mosque guard from his home, on predawn Friday.

According to local sources, Israeli forces raided the home of Fadi Alyyan and detained him. The reason for his detention remained unknown.

It is noteworthy that in January, Alyyan was banned from entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque for six consecutive months.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,440 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
