Israeli forces shoot, injure 18-year-old Palestinian in Gaza

March 10, 2019 11:15 A.M. (Updated: March 10, 2019 12:17 P.M.)
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian youth was shot and injured with Israeli live fire along the eastern borders of the central besieged Gaza Strip, on late Saturday.

The spokesperson of the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, Ashraf al-Qidra, said that an 18-year-old Palestinian, whose identity remained unknown, was shot and injured with a live bullet fired by Israeli forces along the eastern borders of the al-Breij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

The Palestinian was taken to a nearby hospital to receive necessary medical treatment.

"The Great March of Return" protests were launched on March 30th by thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza -- which has suffered from a decade-long Israeli siege -- who took to the borders to demand their right of return as refugees to their original homelands, now in present-day Israel.
