Former prisoner among 6 Palestinians detained by Israeli forces

RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least six Palestinians, including a former prisoner, in the occupied West Ban, on predawn Sunday.

According to Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Israeli forces detained one Palestinian in the al-Arrub refugee camp, in the southern Hebron district. He was identified as Yazan Lafi.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, two Palestinians were detained. PPS identified them as Mahmoud Ibrahim al-Seir, 22, and Mutasem Muhammad al-Arrouj, 21.

In the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Radi al-Dado.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, PPS said a former Palestinian prisoner was detained. He was identified as Aqel Shteiwi, 30.

In the northern West Bank district of Jenin, another Palestinian was detained and identified as Arwa Wijad Qabha.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,440 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
