Israeli forces detain Al-Aqsa guard, journalist, woman in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained an Al-Aqsa Mosque guard and a Palestinian woman, on Wednesday, in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem.

A Ma'an reporter said that Israeli police forces detained Muhammad al-Salahi, an Al-Aqsa Mosque guard, near the Bab al-Rahma (Gate of Mercy).

Sources confirmed that Israeli forces also detained a Palestinian woman as she attempted to enter into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Lions Gate and was taken in for interrogation.
The woman's identity remained unknown.

Additionally, eyewitnesses told Ma'an that Israeli forces detained a Palestinian journalist and activist, Ahmad al-Safdi, near Herod's Gate in Jerusalem's Old City, on Tuesday evening.
