Israeli Central Elections Committee publishes final results

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- The Israeli Central Elections Committee published the final results of the Israeli election, on Thursday night.

Likud party, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's party, has 36 seats in the next Knesset, former Israeli army chief of staff Benny Gantz's party the Blue and White "Kahol Lavan" has 35 seats, while the Shas party has 8 seats out of 120.

The committee pointed out that these are the results to be presented to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

According to Israeli Haartez news site, earlier Thursday, the committee stated that a minor computer malfunction led to a delay in the publication of the final election results.

The final results are as follows:

Likud - 36

Kahol Lavan - 35

Shas - 8

United Torah Judaism - 7

Hadash-Ta'al - 6

Labor - 6

Yisrael Beiteinu - 5

Union of Right-Wing Parties - 5

Meretz - 4

Balad-United Arab List - 4

Kulanu - 4
