April 20, 2019 5:26 P.M. (Updated: April 21, 2019 12:49 P.M.)
CAIRO (Ma'an) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo, on Saturday afternoon, for an official visit, during which he will meet his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Abbas is expected to attend the Extraordinary Session of the League of Arab States, on Sunday, to discuss the latest Palestinian development.

Abbas’ adviser for diplomatic affairs, Majdi Khalidi said that during his meeting with al-Sisi, Abbas will discuss options regarding the implementation of the Palestinian National Council's decisions to face the risks and measures by the Israeli occupation and the Untied States administration.

Khalidi told Voice of Palestine radio that Abbas will “consult with the Arab foreign ministers on how to put an end to these challenges and activate the Arab financial safety net to support the Palestinian budget, especially in light of Israel's withholding of the clearance funds for about two months."
