Israel imposes curfew on Huwwara for alleged stabbing attack

May 3, 2019 10:57 A.M. (Updated: May 3, 2019 12:16 P.M.)
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- The Israeli army claimed that a Palestinian attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against an Israeli settler in Huwwara town in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, on Thursday.

Local Palestinian sources told Ma'an that a Palestinian youth showered an Israeli settler vehicle with rocks, injuring one of them.

The Israeli settler’s injury was described as minor.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, a Palestinian in his twenties attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against one of the Israeli settlers in the vehicle.

Following the alleged attempt, the Palestinian fled the scene.

Sources said that large numbers of Israeli forces and policed arrived to the scene to investigate the incident.

In addition, Israeli forces placed Huwwara under a military lockdown, with all passages and crossings around the village blockaded, and a town-wide curfew being announced by Israeli forces.
