Israeli policeman injured in confrontations near Damascus Gate

JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- An Israeli policeman was injured during violent confrontations near the Damascus Gate, in the Old City of Jerusalem, on Friday.

According to Hebrew-language news outlets, an Israeli policeman suffered minor injuries as he attempted “to calm the confrontations” near the Damascus Gate area.

Sources said two individuals were immediately detained and taken in for interrogation by Israeli police forces.

It remained unknown whether the individuals were Palestinian.
